1) Questions & Negation in Past Tense:

Mit "normalen" Verben

+   I went shopping.
-    I didn't go shopping.
?   Did you go shopping?

Mit dem Verb "have" (have ist ein "normales" Verb...)

+   Tom had breakfast.
-    Tom didn't have breakfast.
?    Did Tom have breakfast?

Mit dem Verb "do" (do ist ein "normales" Verb...)

+   Tom did the cleaning.
-    Tom didn't do the cleaning.
?    Did Tom do the cleaning?

Mit dem Verb "be" (ACHTUNG - AUSNAHME - KEIN did / didn't !!!)

+   We were happy.      She was in London.
-    We weren't happy.  She wasn't in London.
?    Were you happy?   Was she in London?

Bsp:

Tony and his friends have lunch in a fine restaurant on Friday at 1 pm. >>  Tony and his friends often have lunch in a fine restaurant on Friday at 1 pm.
