- writing: an invitationDear Angelo
How are things? We invite you for a picnic in the mountains near the waterfall. Would you like to come? We have a plan. We can meet in the valley at 8.30 am on Saturday and walk to the waterfall. And we can lie down and relax. We’d like to listen to music and we’d like to eat and drink. Maybe the weather is great and we’d like to jump into the water. We have breakfast with bread and sandwiches, cheese, champagne, chocolate spread, nuts and fruit, coffee and water. You need good shoes, hiking gear, a cap, sticks, and sun cream, and a picnic rug.
I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.

Dear students,
First and foremost, I'd like to thank you all for taking advantage of the extra practice material this term.
I hope you enjoyed doing the quizzes and practising your English exploring a variety of topics.
As the saying goes, 'time flies when you're having fun' - it's the end of May, and therefore the end of term already!
I have made one last quiz for you before the summer break - I hope you'll enjoy it!
I also hope to welcome you back in autumn - face to face in one of my classes, or online if you prefer...
I'll keep you all updated on when my courses start again after the summer.

Questions: SIMPLE questions: In sentences with "am, is, are" or "can" you must change the first two words/parts of the sentence to form a question. The verb (am/is/are/can) must go in the beginning: -Sue is a nice girl. -They are in the city. -Is Sue a nice girl? -Are they in the city? Questions with “do” / “does”: In sentences with other verbs (NOT “am”, “is”, “are”!) you ask questions with “do” or “does”. (BE CAREFUL! “does” has the “s” at the end à NO “s” at the end of the verb!) DO I …? DO we …? DO you …? DO you …? DOES he / she / it …? DO they…? -Sue likes her brother. -I walk along the street. -Does Sue like her brother? -Do you walk along the street? |
