Grammar:
was / were
I was in London yesterday.
He was in the Cotswolds.
She was on a boat trip.
It was sunny.
We were in America.
You were tired in the evening.
They were in Oxford.
Past Tense (with regular verbs)
We add -ed to the verb to say that something happened in the PAST:
enjoy - enjoyed
listen - listened
play - played
For words ending in 'e', we only add -d:
arrive - arrived
hire - hired
For some words, we must add an extra letter:
travel - travelled
stop - stopped
