BFI A1.1 - 15/01/2020

Today's lesson:

- grammar: questions
- telling the time

Homework:

- "time" worksheet: Write the time; then say what you usually do at this time. (Example: It's ten past ten. I work in the shop.)

Questions:

SIMPLE questions:
In sentences with "am, is, are" or "can" you must change the first two words/parts of the sentence to form a question. The verb (am/is/are/can) must go in the beginning:

-Sue is a nice girl.                               -They are in the city.
-Is Sue a nice girl?                              -Are they in the city?

Questions with “do” / “does”:
In sentences with other verbs (NOT “am”, “is”, “are”!) you ask questions with “do” or “does”.
(BE CAREFUL! “does” has the “s” at the end à NO “s” at the end of the verb!)

DO   I …?                                     DO   we …?
DO   you …?                                DO   you …?
DOES  he / she / it …?                DO they…?

-Sue likes her brother.                            -I walk along the street.
-Does Sue like  her brother?                   -Do you walk along the street?
